Ting Yu (Pelvis Forward)
The pelvis must be curled up under the body removing the lumbar curve. This
straightening of the spine helps to connect the shoulders and waist allowing force to be
transmitted to and from the ground. This position of the pelvis is another signature of
the soft approach to Wing Chun. Unlike wrestlers supporting stress with muscular tension
Wing Chun uses proper alignment and structure to support the stress of self-defense.
